| Pastor Bradford Nelson Bray, born in Kansas City, Missouri resides in Lee’s Summit, Missouri with his wife, Christene, sons, Julius and George and daughter Hannah. Brad completed an Associates of Arts Degree in 1981 at Longview Community College. He then transferred to study figure drawing and painting as a studio art major under regional muralist, Professor Eric James Bransby, at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1984. During and after college, Brad worked for banking institutions for five years until accepting a call as a lay-pastor for a 3-point parish in North Dakota from 1986-1987. From there he applied and was accepted to enter Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. Brad received his Master of Divinity degree in May of 1991 along with a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (C.P.E.) at The Ohio State University Hospitals, was ordained June 16, 1991 and accepted his first call at Trinity Lutheran Church in McPherson, Kansas. In the fall of 1993 Brad accepted a call to serve Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Norway, Kansas. During this transition Brad accepted an officer’s commission as Lieutenant J.G. in the United States Navy Chaplain Corp and fulfilled his Basic Training in Newport, Rhode Island from 1994-1995. After serving 4 years in Norway, Kansas, Brad led and developed Peace Lutheran Parish that includes Our Savior’s Lutheran, Norway, Ada Lutheran Church, Courtland, Kansas, Amana Lutheran Church, Scandia, Kansas and American Lutheran Church in Belleville, Kansas. Brad served Peace Lutheran Parish for two additional years until accepting a position as chaplain at Trinity Lutheran Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri while completing three units of Clinical Pastoral Education. Brad transferred from the U.S. Navy Reserves to the Air National Guard Chaplain Corp and completed additional military training in 2002 and 2004. Brad recently received honorable discharge at the rank of Captain and retired from the military in December of 2005 after 10 years of service. Currently Brad enjoys the many challenges and opportunities to help make All Saints Lutheran Church take the next step from development church to programming and church growth. He finds All Saints, for its present small size, a rare mix of talented and servant-minded people of all ages! He feels blessed to be counted among them in their endeavors! During his leisure time, Brad enjoys music, reading, computer games, yoga and producing an occasional painting or drawing! |
